Paige explained in her first video that her boss had asked her to attend a meeting, which she assumed would be about the company changing up its support staff. However when she arrived she was Informed that she was being let go. “I’ve been with the company the longest of anyone & I’ve just been let go” she explained. “So bear with me as I describe what it’s like to be 29 and unemployed with no plans. Mind you, I hated this job and the way it was managed, so I’m not sad in that sense, but my bank account is low. My rent is exorbitant. I’m stressed.”

Despite the difficult circumstances, Paige has been using her platform on TikTok to share her journey and offer encouragement to others who may be going through similar experiences. In her follow up Videos she has shared the ups and downs of her daily life from making chocolate covered strawberries on Valentines Day to canceling her health Insurance because she could no longer afford it.

Paige’s story is unfortunately not unique. As The Washington Post recently reported there has been a “proliferation of large scale layoffs in recent months” in many industries including tech and media. In the United States, inflation remains high, prompting some businesses to use layoffs to combat rising borrowing costs. However Paiges story is a reminder that even in the face of Adversity there is hope for the future. Her followers have offered words of encouragement & support reminding her that good things are on the horizon.

Paiges story is one of resilience & hope. Despite the unexpected & difficult circumstances of her Layoff she has remained positive and focused on her passions and dreams for the future. Her Journey is a reminder to us all that even in the face of Adversity there is always an Opportunity to pursue our passions & find purpose.
