Some employees argue that chatty customers are an entirely different type. Insperity, a human resources and business solutions provider, classified overly social workers as a potential problem for companies and developed a list of strategies for managing promiscuous individuals who negatively affect a company’s bottom line.
While some Starbucks baristas view customer connections as important, others feel that these values are difficult to maintain in stressful situations. “You need to make better customer connections,” said one employee, while making the CC, “Hurry! We’re running out of time! You can’t talk to customers.”
