According to the manager of one Cava location, they try to use the button at least twice a day, for example, to reward loyal customers or help someone who forgot their wallet.
The woman, who goes by the username @jawnnextdoorr on TikTok, was initially skeptical of the love button when she heard about it from others. However, when she forgot her card during a visit to Cava, she offered to pay via Apple Pay but was told she could have her food for free instead. When she asked if they were serious, the cashier responded with a resounding “absolutely” and used the love button to complete the transaction.
The woman’s TikTok video, which has over 1.3 million views, quickly went viral, with many viewers praising Cava for its generosity and customer service. Some even shared their own experiences of receiving free food from the restaurant after a tough day or a wallet mishap.
